Salem News

A Perry Township Police report published on Jan. 29 regarding a mailbox being knocked over on Shamrock Arbor on Jan. 25 was recently clarified by Trustee Don Kendrick, who said he spoke to the property owner and it was determined a township snow plow was not responsible for the damage.

An accident listed in the Salem Police reports on Feb. 7 should have noted the driver who was cited was using a cell phone at the time of the crash. Ronda Howard, 49, of Orchard Bend Drive, was cited for failure to yield after her westbound vehicle on Third Street attempted to turn south on Vine Avenue, colliding with an eastbound vehicle driven by William Mull III, 24, of East Euclid Avenue at 12:33 p.m. Feb. 5. A passenger in the transportation service vehicle Howard was driving, Marianne Kleinknecht, 60, of Vine Avenue, was taken to Salem Community Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
