LISBON - Lois A. Humphrey, 78, of Lisbon died at home Monday following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Calcutta on May 18, 1934 and was a daughter of the late Neil and Ann (Hoppel) McCall. At age 16 she went to live with her uncle and aunt, Everett and Lee Hoppel along with her favorite cousins, Herman, Darryl, Jim David and Carl.
Living her entire life in this area, she was a cook at various local restaurants and nursing homes. She was a member of the Beaver Street Church of Christ in Lisbon.
Her husband, William J. Humphrey, whom she married on June 6, 1959, survives her at home.
Also surviving her are her children, Timothy W. Humphrey, Kimberly A. (Randy) Sprouse and Lynn M. Humphrey, all of Lisbon; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a half brother.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes at 2 p.m. Friday with Aaron Burch and Herman McHan of the church officiating.
The family will be present to receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Calcutta.
