HANOVERTON - School officials discussed building security after board member Mike Ellyson raised the subject during Wednesday's meeting.
High school Principal William Young said the administrative team is working on it and is always concerned about doors, noting there are times when they can't all be locked.
He explained it was more than locks and cameras but lighting played a part along with kids who arrive early at school.
"There are a lot of nooks and crannies that need to be tightened up," he said and building and grounds Supervisor Tom Clemens said he was getting quotes on door locks and reviewing updates for the cameras while looking at a web-based system with more megapixels.
Clemens noted, "At the bus garage it's not so much the cameras but the lighting."
Ellyson wondered about fencing the buses in and board member Mike Phillis suggested a motion light.
"I think it be a big deterrent," Phillis said and Clemens said it was something "we can look in to."
