LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court on Tuesday, Chelsea A. Cope, 35, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, was bound over to the county grand jury on a charge of deception to obtain a dangerous drug. She waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

Cope is accused on Jan. 9 of filling a prescription for a Xanax substitute, which was prescribed to her husband, Jason Cope, who was incarcerated at the county jail at the time.

Aaron M. Pierson, 23, Academy Street, Salineville, was bound over to the grand jury on charges of three counts breaking and entering and one count burglary for allegedly taking a credit card from inside another person's home on Dec. 17. Additionally he is accused of going into three homes on Victor Avenue in Salineville. Pierson waived his right to a preliminary hearing and bond remained at $10,000.

Pierson was sentenced to 90 days in jail, but credited with 11 served on an additional theft charge for on Dec. 18 taking two video games and a game console, which were owned by Tracey Crooms. He is to begin serving his remaining jail time immediately.

A March 19 pretrial was set for Joseph R. Gross, 42, Garfield Avenue, East Palestine, charged with violating a temporary protection order for allegedly coming to pick up his children at their mother's request after she crashed on Friday when there was a protection order prohibiting him from being near her.
