Ruth Bott Wilhelm marks 100th

Mrs. Ruth Bott Wilhelm, along with close friends and family, celebrated a century's worth of living at her 100th birthday party on Feb. 16.

Mrs. Wilhelm, who currently resides in the assisted living Courtyard at Lexington in Salem, was born on Feb. 16, 1913, in East Palestine. After graduating from East Palestine High School, she married Arthur Wilhelm. They resided in East Palestine where they raised four daughters.

Family members and close friends traveled from many states to gather at the Salem Golf Club for a memorable evening of dinner and to toast the honoree. Family members in attendance included three generations of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special guests were Glenn and Janice (Wilhelm) Mankin of Cumming, Ga., Jack and Margie (Wilhelm) Mathews of Tega Cay, S. C., and Bruce and Charlotte (Wilhelm) Capel of Salem.
