Powers dinner benefit planned Saturday
EAST PALESTINE - A spaghetti dinner benefit for Tim Powers is scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Uncle Sam's Bar and Grille.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and free for children 10 and under.
Proceeds will benefit the medical fund of Powers, a village resident, who is recovering from surgery in September to repair a double aneurysm.

Anonymous donor sponsoring Banquet

Spring sessions of storyimes scheduled
SALEM - Spring sessions of storytimes at Salem Public Library run from April 2 to May 8.
Storytimes are designed just for pre-readers, with lots of stories, music, rhymes, and movement. Each storytime is followed by either a craft or a free playtime. Family Storytime begins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and children of all ages, with a caregiver, are welcome. Toddler Tales meets at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays.
This program is for children ages 18 to 36 months, with a favorite caregiver. Preschoolers, ages 3-5, can join the fun on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Preschool Power.

Springtime in Columbiana adds French Mkt.
COLUMBIANA - Springtime in Columbiana, an event of the Columbiana Area Tourism Bureau, is announcing the addition of a French Market to be held in the parking lot of Grace Church on Main Street.
The market will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3 and 4 with a variety of yard-sale-type vendors.
Prospective vendors are asked to contact the tourism office at 330-482-2282. Booth spaces are limited and a minimum donation of $20 is requested for each space.
Table donations from the vendors will be used to develop upcoming events and activities to bring more visitors to Columbiana.Vendors are responsible for their own tents, tables, and chairs. Damascus Ruritan Club's dinner is March 23
DAMASCUS - The Damascus Ruritan Club's 48th annual spring Swiss steak dinner is slated from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 23 at the West Branch High School cafeteria.
Carryouts will be available. Proceeds will be used to help finance the club's scholarships to be awarded to graduating seniors to help further their educations.
Crown Theater schedules auditions
COLUMBIANA - Crown Theater Productions is holding auditions for "the King and I!" from 6 to 9 p.m. March 25 and 27 at the Main Street Theater, 5 N. Main St.
Script reading and singing is required for adults. Children will be asked to sing and talk. The show dates are June 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23.
LEETONIA - The Leetonia Artisans Festival Committee will begin registering exhibitors for the 28th annual Artisans Festival set for Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wick Park. The registration forms will be available for download on April 1 on the www.leetonia.org homepage to make it easier for vendors to sign up for the annual event.
Last year 92 arts, crafts, antiques and collectible, and food vendors were on hand after the show was moved to the forth Sunday in September, making it one of the best shows in recent years in its history.
Contracts will be available for $40 for a 15x15-foot space for exhibitors and $50 per spot for all food vendors with a state approved food license.
The Leetonia Parks and Recreation Board benefits from the monies raised and uses it for yearly projects at the villages three parks. Spots are assigned on a first come first serve basis after payment is received at Leetonia Village Hall by Randy Chismar, village fiscal officer.
The event offers free admission, parking, and local entertainment and is family friendly. The traditional Harvest Theme makes this annual "homecoming event" popular among area residents. Deadline for the show is July 1 and early entries will receive verification of payments prior to the show.
