South Range OKs water well drilling

BEAVER TOWNSHIP- The South Range Local school board Monday night approved the drilling of a water well for the new board offices.

The board approved $9,076 for McKay & Gould Drilling in East Palestine to install the well at the facility across state Route 46 from the K-12 campus. The board also approved the solicitation of bids for the current facility once it is vacated.

In other news, the board approved supplemental coaching contracts to Paul Munson and Brian Rupert, assistant varsity baseball; Levi Hively, assistant high school wrestling; and Joe Brooks, assistant high school boys track. The board also approved a supplemental contract to Jodine Palmer as musical director and approved as volunteer baseball coaches Don DeChellis, Chuck Vinopal and Jeff Pilcher.

Additionally the board granted permission for the Art Club to travel to New York City on Feb. 13, 2014, approved the amounts and rates for fiscal year 2014 presented by Treasurer Jim Phillips and approved the high school curriculum guide for the 2013-2014 school year.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. April 15 in the K-12 campus music room.
