NEW WATERFORD - Louise Ward, 92, of Pinewood Drive, died early Wednesday morning at her residence.

Mrs. Ward was born Sept. 11, 1920 in Westpointe, Ohio, a daughter of the late James and Violet Swanson Bell.

A lifelong resident of the East Palestine and New Waterford area, she had been employed for several years with Heck's restaurant, Columbiana, as well as a nurse's aide at the Salem Community Hospital.

Her husband, Lester Ward, whom she married Sept. 25, 1939, preceded her in death on June 20, 1999, as had a daughter, Kathy Jo Lower.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Thompson, Sandra Moses, Charles Ward, Joseph Ward, and Dr. Kimberly Ward, as well as 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Mrs. Ward also leaves two brothers, Raymond and James Bell.

Services are not being observed. Arrangements were with the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine.
