SALEM - Remodeled and out front with a whole new menu that owner Jamie Kessler calls "very unique" for Salem, JD's Wood Fired Grill reopened last week after extensive remodeling.
The menu says "Taste the Wood Fired Experience."

triple-prime steak to the hand-cut burgers are part of that unique dining experience at JD's Wood Fired Grill at 441 S. Ellsworth Ave.
The restaurant closed on March 9 as the Wing Warehouse and re-opened on March 15 as JD's with an all new dining area in the back, new tables and chairs, a new tile floor, caramel over crimson wall decor and a reduced sports profile. There are still plenty of television sets and Keno monitors but Kessler said its "family, friendly, streamlined and very clean" with five to 10 extra full- and part-time positions to help serve customers - especially on prime rib nights every Friday and Saturday after 4 p.m. and on family night, all day Monday, when kids under 10 eat for free when accompanied by adults.
"They're not going to leave hungry," Kessler said. "Not with our unique burgers."
There is a selection of 14 burgers ranging from the Hawaiian to Juicy-Lucy to Bodacious, hand-cut and fresh.
The new menu also has a selection of appetizers, soups, salads, wraps, sandwiches kids, sides and deserts along with 20-minute carryout service at 330-337-9800.
A new, oval front door also greets customers, an item that Smith said that "once you hit the front door, you're going to know it's different."
Smith said the remodeled kitchen and the new wood-fired grill on which steaks, burgers, chicken and sandwiches are cooked provides a unique flavor. "It gives meat a special taste," she said.
Kitchen hours are from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday.
The full-service bar is open until 2:30 a.m. each night.
Smith said a Facebook page is being built and should be online by late April.
