EAST PALESTINE-After leading the United Golden Eagles to a district title, Emily Zehenbauer and Courtney Hydrick teamed up again in the closing minutes to lead the Upper Tier to a 67-66 comeback win over the Red in the Inter-Tri County League All-Star game Thursday night at East Palestine High School.

With 12 seconds remaining and the Upper Tier trailing, 66-64, Zehenbauer drained a three-point shot from the top-of-the-key to give Upper Tier its first lead of the second half.

"I was definitely looking to get a three up," Zehenbauer said. "For me a three feels like a higher percentage shot than a two, so I felt very confident taking it."

The Upper Tier was in position to win the game thanks in part to Hydrick. She made three steals-including one on the game's final possession-and scored six points in the final three minutes to help Upper Tier make a final push after trailing by 13 early in the second half. When Ashley Harrison hit a jumper with 49 seconds left, the game was tied.

Linley Mamonis of Western Reserve came back and hit a jumper with 25 seconds left to give the Lower Tier a two-point lead and set the stage for Zehenbauer's heroics.

"It was a fun game to play in," Zehenbauer said. "I've played with a lot of these girls in AAU so I know them pretty well. It was a good feeling to hit the last shot."

Hydrick finished with a game-high 16 points for the Upper Tier while Zehenbauer and Harrison chipped in 14 and 12, respectively.

Lowellville's Madison Opritza led the Lower Tier with 14 points.
