COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A 16-year-old central Ohio boy arrested in the fatal shooting this week of a 14-year-old girl has been in trouble before.
Court records show the boy was accused three months ago of threatening another family in Columbus.
The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1BgazBL ) reports that the boy had two criminal cases pending against him in Franklin County Juvenile Court when he was accused of fatally shooting 14-year-old Amanda Kirwin as she stood with friends outside her home Monday night.
Columbus police homicide Sgt. Joan Schlabach says that interviews indicated that Kirwin was the not the intended victim of the shooting.
The boy waived an appearance Wednesday in juvenile court, where the prosecutor's office filed paperwork to have his case transferred to adult court.
