SALEM - Lewis E. Beachler, 80, of Salem, died at 9 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at home with his family at his side.
He was born Dec. 15, 1932 in Flemington, West Virginia, a son of the late Joseph C. and Julia E. (Thompson) Beachler.
He was retired from Eljer in 1995 where he worked for 40 years in the enameling room. He loved to be outside and taking care of his yard. He enjoyed golf and he was a pilot.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Beverly E. Hendricks, whom he married on Feb. 7, 1958; a son, Curtis A. Beachler of Salem; a daughter, Lori A. Denmon of Massillon; a brother, Joseph (Barbara) Beachler of Lisbon; and a sister, Juanita.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Beachler.
A family gathering at the home place will be held at a later date.
