LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court on Monday, Shane M. Blake, 25, East Fifth Street, Salem, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the grand jury on a robbery charge. Blake is accused of getting out of his vehicle, approaching a couple walking along the street, Mary and Gary Shasteen, and demanding their money or wallet while he was holding a knife. Gary Shasteen and Blake reportedly became involved in a slight altercation and Blake fled in his car. Bond was reduced to $75,000 cash or surety from $100,000.

Kirk L. Poole, 44, Skyline Drive, Wellsville, was fined $875, had his license suspended for 180 days and sentenced to 62 days in jail for OVI first offense, driving under suspension and failure to control.

Cynthia D. Fagan, 52, Canton, was fined $700, sentenced to 10 days in jail, had her license suspended for 12 months and required 40 hours community service for failure to control and physical control amended from OVI first offense.

Timothy W. Flowers, 46, Carmel Achor Road, Negley, was fined $300 for two counts of disorderly conduct amended from two counts of domestic violence for going after one of his son's and grabbing another by the throat before pushing him out of the house.

Robert Stephenson, 76, East Main Street, East Palestine, was fined $250 and required 10 hours community service for obstructing official business for yelling and screaming at East Palestine police while they were conducting an investigation on Sept. 2. A resisting arrest charge was dismissed.

Joseph A. Beary, 48, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, was fined $250 for no license, driving under suspension and speeding.

Hayward B. Washington, 58, 15th Street, Wellsville, was sentenced to 58 days in jail and fined $250 for domestic violence for threatening Patricia Whitson with a sword he took off the wall and chased her with in the house.

Christopher D. Lease, 44, Lisbon Canfield Road, Leetonia, was fined $200, credited with one day in jail served and required 30 hours community service for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence for slapping his wife on both sides of her face and threatening to "keep pounding" on her until she learned.

Todd Alen Kirtley, 25, North Main Street, Columbiana, was sentenced to 59 days in jail and fined $100 for criminal mischief for taking a claw hammer and throwing it at his mother's vehicle, shattering the windshield. A restitution hearing was set for April 11.

Rebecca Hartley, 39, East Fourth Street, Salem, was fined $100 and had her license suspended for 180 days for possession of marijuana.

Dewayne L. Stokes, 51, U.S. Route 30, Hanoverton, was sentenced to three days in jail for driving under FRA suspension.

An April 22 pretrial was set for Richard D. Call, 39, Alderlick Road, Wellsville, charged with assault for allegedly spitting at Rebecca McCauley, hitting her in the head, knocking her to the ground and attempting to choke her on Sunday.

An April 30 pretrial was set for Ashley M. Vanderhoff, 23, Cherry Street, Salem, charged with theft for allegedly concealing $831 in merchandise from Walmart and fleeing from the store out a fire escape without paying on Thursday.

A May 7 pretrial was set for David A. Hull, 51, Blueberry Drive, Columbiana, charged with OVI first offense and marked lanes.

A May 7 pretrial was set for Jill R. Fulton, 38, West Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with wrongful entrustment of a motor vehicle.

A May 13 pretrial was set for Spencer D. Hulett, 26, Georgetown, Ky., cited with no license and speeding.

A May 13 pretrial was set for James M. Butler, 27, Ethan, S.D., charged with OVI first offense and marked lanes.
