SUMMITVILLE - Abigail Katelyn Walker, 13, went home to be with the Lord at Salem Community Hospital Monday, April 8, 2013 following an accident near her home.
Born Nov. 19, 1999 in Salem, she was a daughter of Shannon L. (Gonzalez) Marra and Steven S. Walker.
She was a 7th grade student at Southern Local where she played volleyball, was a peer mentor and tutor as well as a member of the EXCEL gifted program, and was a member of the Academic Challenge team She was a member of Trinity Friends Church and was active in the youth group there. She was an avid reader, enjoyed writing, and was a talented artist. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed movies. She had a great imagination and a wonderful zest for life.
Survivors include her mother and step-father Shannon and Robert Marra II of Summitville and her father and step-mother Steven and Kileina Walker of Salem. She was an important big sister to Emily Walker, Robert Marra III, Thomas Levi Walker, Nicholas Marra, and Madilyn Walker.
Other survivors include maternal grandparents Benny and Patsy Gonzalez of New Waterford; paternal grandparents Gerald and Grace Walker of Hanoverton; step-grand-parents Robert and Jeannette Marra, I, of Summitville, and Mark and Rene' Hilton of Salem as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Friends Church officiated by Pastor Richard Jones. Burial will be in Bethesda Church Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the church from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Arrangements are being handled by the Weber Funeral Home.
