Walter F. Savage

WASHINGTONVILLE -Walter F. Savage, 62, of Washingtonville, died at 5:57 a.m. Thursday at the St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Born Dec. 2, 1950, in Salem, he was the son of the late Ellsworth "Buck" and Mary Eleanor (Davis) Savage.

Mr. Savage had been employed as a machinist at the Crane Deming Company in Salem. He had also served as chief of the former Washingtonville Volunteer Fire Department and had served on Washingtonville Village Council.

Survivors include his wife, the former Carrie E. Stewart; a daughter, Laura M. Savage of Fairview Park; two sons, W. Scott Savage of Leetonia and David K. Savage of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mary E. Waggle of Columbiana; a brother, John Savage of Austintown; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home in Leetonia, with Mr. Nelson Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Monday.
