SALEM - David W. Kile, 99, of Salem, Ohio, died Sunday, April 7, 2013.
Mr. Kile was born Aug. 3, 1913, in Marshall, Ill., to David and Lola Kile.
David graduated from Rockford High School and attended Blackburn College. He was a member of the North Benton Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, farming and special time with his family. David retired from Ford Motor Company where he served as a general foreman and later as a supervisor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean F. Kile, whom he married Sept. 2, 1939; his parents; and two younger brothers.
He is survived by a son, David (Nancy) of Jackson Township, Ohio; daughters: Barbara (Karl) Schenk of Salem, Ohio, Carol Cooke of Cincinnati, Katherine (widow of Jeff) Eshelman of Salem, Ohio, Margaret (James) Hilles of Berlin Center and Fanny Fernandez of New York City (an exchange student from Columbia, South America); 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A celebration of David's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at North Benton Presbyterian Church with Pastor Herb Goetz officiating Interment will be privately held.
