U.S. 30 crash

April 27, 2013
Salem News

David Bass of Deridder, La., was transported by Maple-Cotton Ambulance to Aultman Hospital in Canton with non-life threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 30 at Lynchburg Road just before noon Friday. Bass was eastbound on U.S. 30 in a red Chevrolet Silverado when Robert Piecynski of Carrollton driving a white 2001 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Lynchburg Road proceeded through a stop sign and was struck by Bass. Neither Piecynski nor his father, who was a passenger in his truck, were hurt. Hanover Township Fire Department provided traffic control and stood by at the scene, where a utility pole was split from the impact. State Trooper Eric Carroll is investigating the crash and cited Piecynski for failure to yield at a stop sign. (Salem News photo by Patti Schaeffer)
