Salem News

- Sandra Weigle, McClure Road, East Palestine, reported at 7:51 p.m. Tuesday she went for a walk earlier and was carrying a stick due to the neighbor's dog biting her before. This time the neighbor, Harold Stanley, reportedly came out of his yard with one of his dogs and threatened her if she touched one of his dogs with her stick. Weigle told Stanley she is the last person to harm a dog, but if it attacked her she planned to defend herself. Stanley then reportedly became even more enraged threatening to kill her and her husband and telling Weigle her husband should come over and settle it like a man. Deputies spoke to Stanley, who reiterated there would be problems if Weigle struck one of his dogs with a club.
