LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Charity A. Riggs, 19, Oak Street, Salem, was bound over to the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury on a theft charge. Court documents allege Riggs stole a check from the checkbook of Rebecca Simpson, writing the check to herself before cashing it for $175 on Feb. 26.
A May 9 preliminary hearing was set for Matthew P. Stouffer, 26, North Cross Street, Columbiana, charged with theft for allegedly taking utility rated electric wire from the city of Columbiana's electrical utilities department. The 260 pounds of wire was reportedly sold as scrap at Metalico on April 26. The wire is reportedly valued at $2,720. Stouffer is also charged with a misdemeanor criminal trespassing charge for going onto city property and a May 9 pretrial was set on that charge.
Taylor Scott Snyder, 22, North Market Street, East Palestine, was fined $725, had his license suspended for six months and was sentenced to three days in jail for OVI first offense and failure to control.
Ronald O. Baker, 40, Scotts Mill Road, Rogers, was fined $200, credited with five days served in jail, and required 30 hours community service for assault amended from domestic violence for choking Starlynn Reed on April 27, slamming her to the ground and causing her to lose consciousness at one point.
John D. Carrion, 33, West Sixth Street, Salem, was fined $300 and had his license suspended for 180 days for drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession.
Cody W. Landsberger, 19, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, was fined $200 and required 30 hours community service for hit skip and assured clear distance.
Connie R. Dattilio, 48, state Route 334, Columbiana, was fined $100 and credited with 14 days in jail served for obstruction of official business and disorderly conduct. Court documents state Dattilio refused to obey commands by deputies to calm down and stop being aggressive when they were called to her home on April 18. She also reportedly refused to provide deputies with her name and other information.
Daniel Barcey, 19, West Perry Street, Salem, was fined $150, credited with one day in jail served and required 20 hours community service for disorderly conduct amended from assault for running up behind another student at Salem High School and hitting him in the back of the head with a closed fist. He was further ordered to have no further contact with the 16-year-old victim.
Charles L. Butcher, 48, Maple Street, Lisbon, was fined $150 and sentenced to 180 days in jail for domestic violence for striking Teresa Howard in the face, causing a cut on her tongue and a bruise on her right arm when she attempted to stop him from hitting her.
Douglas L. Coy, 52, Lexington Street, Salem, was fined $150, credited with a day served in jail and required 40 hours community service for theft for caffiene pills and a rifle scope he placed in his pockets at Wal-Mart in Salem on Feb. 10.
Michael Gary Snyder III, 19, Youngstown, was fined $150 for no license amended from driving under FRA suspension.
A May 9 pretrial was set for Robert L. Walters, 37, U.S. Route 62, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly hitting the mother of his child in the face, punching her in the head and arms and striking her vehicle with his while she was driving, but sitting stationary.
A May 21 pretrial was set for Trevor T. Baulo, 27, Struthers, cited with speeding.
A May 30 pretrial was set for Marcia A. Wood, 63, Miller Street, Kensington, cited with criminal trespassing for allegedly going uninvited onto the property of Kelly E. Wood, Kennedy Drive, Salem, and refusing to leave on Monday.
A June 3 pretrial was set for Nancy J. Ruppel, 62, Beaver Falls, Pa., cited with a stop sign violation.
A June 6 pretrial was set for Tracy L. McCoy, 41, Yeager Drive, Wellsville, charged with OVI first offense and failure to control.
A June 6 pretrial was set for Courtney L. Troyer, 21, Gavers Road, Hanoverton, cited with failure to reinstate a license and hit skip.
A June 18 pretrial was set for Elena D. Ionese, 57, New Buffalo Road, Columbiana, cited with malfunctioning traffic signals.
A June 20 pretrial was set for Charles R. Courtney III, 28, South Broadway, Salem, charged with possession of marijuana and theft for allegedly helping another man take tractor wheel weights and some scrap from the rear of a Franklin Avenue garage and scrap the items at Quaker City Auto Parts for $65.
A June 20 pretrial was set for Roger D. Kasler, 48, Canton, cited with speeding.
A July 2 pretrial was set for David J. Mathes, 21, Salem-Unity Road, Salem, charged with driving under suspension and speeding.
