Fire at Stoneridge Terrace destroys home, kills pet dog

May 5, 2013
Salem News

A park home at the Stoneridge Terrace campground on Winona Road was destroyed by fire Saturday night. The Winona Fire Department was alerted to the fire shortly after 9 p.m. and Chief George Brantingham said the home was engulfed upon their arrival. Mutual aid was requested from the Hanover Township department. The departments initially believed someone was trapped inside, but firefighters quickly determined that was not the case. The female resident, who has not yet been identified, was not home at the time, and the fire was called in by a neighbor. One of two pet dogs did not survive the fire, however. The other dog and some puppies were rescued. (Salem News photo by Patti Schaeffer)
