SALEM-Henry Edward Schnell, 87, of Salem passed away at Hospice House on Friday, May 3, 2013. Henry was born in Salem on March 31, 1926, a son of the late Michael and Susan (Schenn) Schnell. Henry served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946 as a Seaman 1st class. He was the former owner/operator of Salem Blanking Corp. and a member of the Heritage Foundation.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen "Nina" (Kaisler), whom he married on Sept. 14, 2007; a brother, Charles Schnell of New Smyrna Beach, Fla; a sister, Eleanor Patten of Saratoga, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters.
Per his request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
