Penthouse for eagles

May 16, 2013
Salem News

This eagle and two eaglets were sunning themselves as temperatures reached the 80-degree mark Wednesday afternoon. Bald eagle populations are increasing nationwide since the early 1980s. Eaglets leave the nest and learn to fly when they are 11 to 12 weeks old. These were apparently born in April in Mahoning County. (Salem News photo by Larry Shields)
