Salem 1968 to meet for dinner today

SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 1968 will meet for dinner at 6 p.m. today at Ricky's English Pub.

Fish fry offered at Columbiana Legion

COLUMBIANA - An all-you-can-eat fish fry will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the American Legion Post 290. Cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children.

Vito Weeda art exhibit planned

ALLIANCE - Vito Weeda will hold his first art opening from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jupiter Studios, 346 E. Main St. Weeda retired from Sebring High School in 2012 where he held the position of principal. Weeda started painting in 2008. In 2010 he entered a painting at the Butler in Salem and received first place. His friend, Steve Betz, will have scenery water color paintings on display. Wine and snacks will be served. A live band will start playing at 8 p.m. Paintings will be on display for one month.

Saturday youth fishing clinic canceled

SALEM - The youth fishing clinic scheduled for Saturday, sponsored by the Salem Parks and Recreation Department, has been canceled.

Salem VFW kitchen open Saturday

SALEM - The kitchen at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 892 will be open to the public from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Specials include a variety of burgers, made to order, along with other items.

Beekeepers to meet in Canfield Sunday

CANFIELD - The Columbiana and Mahoning County Beekeepers Association will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of Barb Pagani, 101 Court St. A potluck lunch precedes at 1 p.m. All are welcome to attend. For more information call 330-533-1346.

SALEM - The board of trustees of Salem Public Library plan to meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the library.

Goshen 1941 breakfast set Tuesday

SALEM - Goshen High School Class of 1941 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Damascus Historical Society to meet

DAMASCUS - The Damascus Area Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. May 21 in the Pearce House meeting room. Readings from the diary of Aaron Frame will be presented by Richard Stoffer after the business meeting. All are welcome to attend.

Fish fry set at Youngstown Shrine Club

NORTH LIMA - The Youngstown Shrine Club will hold its annual fish fry from 3 to 7 p.m. May 24 in its main club room. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Dinners include cole slaw, french fries or macaroni and cheese, rolls and beverages. The club is located at 1735 W. South Range Road (Route 165). Carryouts are available. (Note: the club can be accessed during the road construction on Route 165 from the east.

Ostomy Support Group to meet

BOARDMAN - The Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group, sponsored by Humility of Mary Health Partners, will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 11 in the Cedar Room at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, 8401 Market St., Boardman. The meeting is free and open to ostomy patients, families and friends. Refreshments are provided and parking is free. For information, call 330-480-3440.

Morgan's Raid topic at Leetonia Library

LEETONIA- The Leetonia Community Public Library will host a presentation at 6:15 p.m. June 10 by Paul Rohrbaugh about Morgan's Raid concerning John Hunt Morgan, Confederate leader during the U.S. Civil War. Everyone in attendance will receive a free copy of the game "Morgan's a'Coming" by High Flying Dice Games.
