LISBON - A motorcyclist who died of a heart attack while riding May 5 on state Route 558 also had alcohol and drugs in his system. According to information released over the weekend by the Lisbon post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, blood tests performed on Carl M. Oyer, 56, Morris Road, Lisbon tested positive for alcohol, marijuana and stimulants.
The results were based on lab tests conducted after Oyer's death by the county coroner's office.
The coroner had ruled Oyer suffered a fatal heart attack which, in turn, caused his motorcycle to roll onto its left side and slide, coming to rest partially off the left side of the roadway. The coroner ruled that Oyer suffered only minor scrapes to his hand and leg in the crash, according to the latest report.
