SALEM - James L. Anderson, 68, of Upper Sandusky and formerly of Salem, died surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 11:30 a.m.

He was born on Jan. 28, 1945 in Salem, to Clifford L. and Dorothy M. (Yates) Anderson. He married Rella M. McLaughlin on July 12, 1963 and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Mr. Anderson is also survived by his children including Bruce (Sherri) Anderson, Minford, OH; Deborah (Matthew) Doerle, Hudson, OH; Duane (Shari) Anderson, Prosper, TX; nine grandchildren including Andrew, Emily, Brandon, Megan, Nolan, Brooklynn, James, Morgan and Campbell; and a brother, Dr. Clifford Jr. (Betty) Anderson, Gambier, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Carol Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was a member of Ridge Chapel Nazarene Church and a member of the Salem Nazarene Church. He was a machinist at General Motors at the Fisher Body Plant in Lordstown. Mr. Anderson was a member of International Antique Association. He was a past member of the Wyandot County Corn Huskers Association, the Mahoning Wood Craving Club and the UAW #1714. For hobbies he enjoyed wood craving, riding around in his golf cart and playing dart ball. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Stark Memorial Funeral Home, 1014 E. State St., Salem, OH 44460 with Dr. George Hazlett and Rev. Matthew Doerle officiating.

A visitation will be held an hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford, OH. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. in the Stark Memorial Funeral Home, Salem, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nazarene Mission Society of Ridge Chapel Nazarene Church, the Salem Nazarene Church or the OSU James Cancer Center in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E.
