SALEM - Jarod Todd Cameron, 23, of Salem, passed away Monday night, May 27, 2013.
He was born March 27, 1990, in Canton, Ohio, son of Jason Cameron and Karen (Sanor) Cameron.
Jarod was a 2008 graduate of West Branch High School, where he played golf and served as team captain his senior year on the high school soccer team. He played soccer most of his life. Jarod attended Penn State University, Behrend Campus in Erie, Pa., and was pursuing a mechanical engineering degree at Akron University. He was a lifeguard for many years, and enjoyed the outdoors, golf, hiking, playing piano and guitar, and listening to music. He attended the First Brethren Church in North Georgetown.
Survivors include his mother, Karen Cameron of Salem; father and stepmother, Jason and Dawn Cameron of Mineral Ridge; his best friend and girl he planned to spend the rest of his life with, Katie Tressler of Salem; paternal grandparents, Wayne and Sandy Cameron of Beloit; maternal grandparents, Ray and Kathryn Sanor of Beloit; stepsister, Allie Watkins of Mineral Ridge; stepbrother, Cameron Watkins of Mineral Ridge; and many aunts and uncles.
Preceding him in death were his great-grandparents, Lorin and Mary Cameron, Dale and Jean Malmsberry, Earl and Bessie Sanor and Ralph and Erma Smith; and his dog, best friend and "brother" Jakie.
Private family memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald W. Waters officiating.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
