June 1, 2013
By KEVIN HOWELL , Salem News

GOSHEN TWP.- Township trustees Thursday night approved road work on Diagonal Road.

Trustee Chair Bob McCracken said the trustees approved approximately $17,650 for Sweet Meadows Farm Drainage for drainage of the roadway between Middletown and Duck Creek roads. They also approved $19.25 per ton for up 1,500 tons of slag for chip and seal from Murphy Trucking and up to $3,000 for culvert replacement by the township's road department.

In other business, the trustees approved an unpaid three-day suspension for Police Chief Steve McDaniel that will be taken off his vacation or comp time for what McCracken described as "some language in [McDaniel's] contract causing some issues."

The trustees will meet next at 7 p.m. June 10 at the Administration Building.
