Free meal offered

LEETONIA - A free meal will be served at 6 p.m. June 5 at Leetonia Mennonite Church. A program featuring Ohio Valley Teen Challenge follows at 7 p.m.

Berry festival planned

HOMEWORTH - A berry festival will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. June 7 at the Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 4306 Homeworth Road. Sandwiches, salads, beverages and a variety of berry desserts will be available. The fundraiser will assist 10 from the congregation who are going on a week long mission trip to Wisconsin in July.

Caregiver support group

LISBON - A caregiver support group begins June 7 at Hope Christian Fellowship located across from Beaver Local High School. Meetings will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Friday of each month. Those who are caring for an elderly parent, spouse, sibling or child on a regular basis are invited to attend. Gospel cook-out set

SALEM - Bethesda Life Church will host a summer-fest-gospel-sing-cook-out beginning at 4 p.m. June 8 at 782 state Route 14 (Benton Road).

Those attending are asked to bring a coverdish to share for the dinner at 5 p.m. Music starts at 6 p.m. Bluegrass Gospel Roundup from Canton and Chester Bryant's Sounds of Home Singers from Alliance will perform. Everyone is welcome and asked to bring a lawn chair and blanket if needed. Parking is available in front of the house or in the auction house parking lot. Drive-thru chicken

NORTH LIMA - Calvary United Methodist Church will hold its monthly drive-thru chicken dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. June 13. The meal consists of stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. Cost is $6. The church is located at 12062 South Ave. A portion of the profits are used for mission projects.

Sewing for missions

CANFIELD - Anyone who has a portable sewing machine and would like to participate in a mission sewing project is welcome to bring their machine to the Canfield Christian Church, 123 S. Broad St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 22. Fabric, and supplies for sewing, quilts and crafts, will also be sold. All proceeds from this sale will go to the Talent Dollar offering for upcoming projects. Youth will be selling concessions to help support mission work.

200th year marked

NORTH?GEORGETOWN - Emmanuel Lutheran Church has been celebrating its 200th year with monthly special events open to the community. Emmanuel recently welcomed ladies from First Brethren in North Georgetown, Mount Moriah Lutheran in Berlin Center, Israel Lutheran in Paris (also celebrating its 200th anniversary this year) and friends and family of Emmanuel's congregation.
