MINERVA -?George Junior Picknell, 88, of East Rochester died Friday in Minerva Eldercare.
He was born Nov. 21, 1924 in Hannibal, Ohio to George and Nancy (Smith) Picknell. He retired from West Township where he worked for 32 years, 10 years as road foreman and four years as a West Township trustee.
He had also worked for six years at B&W Tube Div. in Alliance and was the owner and operator of G.J. Appliance Service. He was a member of the East Rochester United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wives, Maggie Picknell who died in 1969; and Jeannette Picknell, who died in 2012; daughter, Darlene Picknell; stepdaughter, Connie Yoho; sister, Blanche Jackson; three brothers including Clarence, Lawrence and Willard Picknell; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Picknell is survived by three daughters, Grace Earl of SC, Shirley Wells of Minerva and Cathy Waldrop of TN' two sons, Donald Picknell of Minerva and Roger (Michelle) Picknell of TN; three stepchildren, Heidi Yeager of Alliance, Bonita Gray of East Rochester and John (Cindy) Goldman of Warren; a sister, Dorothy Jackson of Racine, WI, 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Scott Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
