SALEM - The pool at Centennial Park opens at 1 p.m. today, after a new paint job and some sprucing up for summer.

"We're always trying to find another way to upgrade," Salem Parks Director Steve Faber said.

The bottom of the pool was painted for this year, with the pool filled this past week, and the treatment process for the pool water streamlined. Faber said they are always trying to improve aesthetics and they are always looking for more lifeguards.

Anyone who is certified as a lifeguard and interested in working at the pool can call 330-332-7951.

The pool hours are 1 to 7 p.m. daily, with a free adult swim from noon to 12:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. A daily pass is $4 for adults and $3 for students, with an individual season pass costing $40 and a family season pass costing $60 for up to five family members. The cost for each additional family member on the pass is $5.

The pool can be rented for private parties beginning at 7:30 p.m. at a cost of $100 for a minimum two hours and $50 per hour for each additional hour, with parties usually limited to three hours.

To inquire about parties or pool passes, call the pool at 330-332-7951.
