Salem reports

-Police responded to the 2800 block of E. State Street at 2:18 p.m. Saturday where a purse was reported stolen. It was recovered and the suspect was caught on the store security cameras with the purse. The incident is under investigation.

-Police responded to the 300 block of Rose Avenue at 2:25 p.m. Saturday where the complainant advised her ex-boyfriend was texting and threatening to post things to mutual friends around town about her. She was advised of the options.

-Walmart security called at 1:54 p.m. Saturday about a theft that occurred earlier in the day. It is under investigation.

- Police responded to the 600 block of Cedar Street at 1:28 p.m. Saturday where the complainant reported her neighbor was allowing their dog to defecate on her property.

- Police responded to the 500 block of S. Lundy Avenue at 1:09 p.m. Saturday for a domestic dispute that was verbal only and both people were calmed down by the time police were leaving.

-Police responded to the 200 block of E. State Street at 11:38 a.m. Saturday where the complainant advised someone broke into the business overnight through the back door. A cash drawer with an undetermined amount of money was taken. The incident is under investigation.

-At 10:46 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 900 block of S. Lundy Avenue where the complainant, his mother and a neighbor advised of hearing a loud bang like a shot from a gun. The complainant advised a blue-colored, unknown make of car was heading north. In the morning the complainant found a rolled-up business-type card in the flower bed in front and the complainant felt it was some sort of homemade bullet. No gun powder or burn marks were found and he said items on the porch were moved around.

- Police responded to the 200 block of W. State Street at 10:33 a.m. Saturday where the vehicle operated by Katelyn M. Skolosh, 31365 Salem-Alliance Road struck the rear of the vehicle operated by Douglas M. Battershell, 16420 U.S. 62, Damascus. Skolosh was cited for assured clear distance and her vehicle was towed from the scene and Battershell drove his vehicle from the scene.

-Police received a complaint from Kenneth L. Willis of Carey Road at 6:25 p.m. Saturday advising his 1970 Chevelle was damaged while parked in the municipal lot in the 500 block of E. Pershing Street

- Police responded to the 2300 block of E.State Street at 6:58 p.m. Saturday and an officer spoke to the complainant about trespassing and soliciting at that location. The complainant was advised of the options.

- Police on patrol were stopped in the 1000 block of E. State Street at 8:15 a.m. Saturday by a woman who found a woman's wallet. Police will attempt to contact the owner.

-A domestic dispute in the 400 block of Vine Avenue at 7:09 p.m. Saturday was verbal only over personal issues.

- Police on patrol at 8:44 p.m. Saturday recovered a black tri-fold wallet near the corner of E. Pershing Street and S. Broadway Avenue

-Police responded to the 100 block of W. Pershing Street at 8:51 p.m. Saturday for a person to be removed who was gone when police arrived.

- Chad D. Raymond, 110 W. Pershing Street #2, was taken into custody at 8:53 p.m. Saturday on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for an OVI charge. He was taken to the county jail.

- Police responded to the 600 block of Park Avenue at 10:55 p.m. Saturday where the complainant advised that two unknown people had kicked open the back door of the residence. Damage was observed and the complainant advised that several items in the house were destroyed.

-A call to a residence in the 500 block of E. Pershing Street at 9:59 p.m. Saturday regarding a fight was a verbal dispute over personal issues.

-Police responded to the 600 block of E. 2d Street at 11:07 p.m. Saturday for a fight between two males who both were gone when police arrived.

-Police responded to the 400 block of S. Broadway Avenue at 11:23 p.m. Saturday for a possible fight. Officers located a group in front of a duplex and two people had been wrestling and an unidentified female began yelling and it turned into a verbal altercation. The female was gone when police arrived.
