Mr. and Mrs. James S. Hickman of Salem celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last month.
The former Carol Jean Krahling, daughter of the late Anna L. and Alfred E. Krahling Sr., and Mr. Hickman, son of the late Sherman and Dorothy Hickman, were married on June 28, 1963, by John H. King at the First Methodist Church in Girard, Mich.
Their temple sealing was on March 21, 1975, at the Washington D.C. Temple.
Mr. Hickman retired from Humtown Pattern Shop in April 2005 after 45 years as a computer programmer. He is an Eagle Scout, United Commercial Travelers member and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he is a high priest and a home teacher.
Mrs. Hickman is a homemaker. She is also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and is currently a primary leader and teacher, and a visiting teacher.
The couple has two children, Christine (Hickman) Evans of Salem and Mark (Christina) Hickman of Uniontown. They also have seven grandchildren, Eric, Nathan, Alex, Megan and Matthew Evans, and Jarrett and Emily Hickman.
