WASHINGTONVILLE - The village picnic in the park has been rescheduled for Aug. 31 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., Mayor Will Jones said Tuesday.
It was previously set for July 20 but Jones said he learned the park will be in use and unavailable.
Free free hotdogs and buns will be donated and refreshments will be available along with a dunk tank featuring Jones, Police Chief Ken Faust and Assistant Police Chief Mark Husk to help raise money for the park.
The picnic will be advertised on the sign in front of the community building at 415 South County Road, in village stores and in surrounding communities.
Jones said there will be a bounce house, corn-hole games and other games and Faust said it would be a good time for the police department to register children's bikes.
Children or parents wanting to register their bikes can bring them along.
The village is also hosting a "Keep Washingtonville Beautiful Day" on July 13 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. with a break at 1 p.m.
City officials have volunteered to help with mowing and cleanup.
Elderly residents or invalid people can call the mayor's office at 330-427-1526 and leave a name, address and phone number to have their property mowed or cleaned up.
