LISBON- Arthur "Art" Shasteen, 86, of Endley Road, died at 11:05 p.m., Friday at the Salem Community Hospital.
Mr. Shasteen was born Aug. 8, 1926, in Hanoverton, a son of the late Albert and Loretta (Davidson) Shasteen, and had lived his entire life in the area.
He worked in many area foundries until he retired. He was also a member of the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church. Mr. Shasteen also served our county in World War II as a private first class in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany and France.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Ann (Headley) Shasteen, whom he married Sept. 25, 1948; son, Terry Shasteen of Lisbon; daughters, Linda Ammon of Salem and Pat McLaughlin of Clinton, R.I.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Larry and John Shasteen..
Following Art's wishes, no calling hours or funeral services will be observed. Private burial will take place at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
