GOSHEN TOWNSHIP- A Sebring woman has been charged with menacing police officers following a traffic stop in Beloit early Thursday morning.
Shaday S. Franklin, 19, 836 S. 13th St., Sebring, was charged with aggravated menacing, a fifth-degree felony, and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension, left of center and no safety belt after Officer David Yohman stopped her on Fifth Street at Stanley Avenue for traveling left of center at 12:10 a.m.
During a search of vehicle Yohman discovered marijuana in a plastic baggie and cigar wraps which Franklin admitted were hers. Franklin also removed her shirt while being frisked, according to Yohman's report.
Yohman reported that while being detained Franklin persistently used profanity despite being warned to stop and threatened to "put a bullet in [Yohman's] head" and "find a person to flatline [Yohman]." She also threatened to "put a bomb in Sebring PD," he reported.
While being booked on station, Franklin also stated that she was from the part of Cleveland where they shoot cops first and ask questions later, according to assisting Officer Isaiah Thomas, before apologizing and asking the officers to smoke the confiscated marijuana with her.
She was transported to the Mahoning County Justice Center. Sebring police assisted with incident.
Franklin's passenger, Marya L. Bell, 22, Cuyohoga Falls, was cited for wrongful entrustment.
