SALINEVILLE - George Edward Bach, 69, of state Route 644, passed away Tuesday morning at his home.
George was born April 25, 1944, in Salineville, Ohio, a son of the late Carl and Cleora (Ketchum) Bach.
He lived all his life in the Salineville area, graduating from Salineville High School in 1962 and married Agnes Jones in 1962. He was the founder of the Bach Lumber Company. George was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Salineville in his youth. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising game fowl. He loved to spend time with his family.
George will be sadly missed by his wife at home Agnes Jones Bach; two sons, George E. (Denise) Bach Jr. and Kenneth (Crystal) Bach, both of Salineville; four daughters, Cathleen (James) Kelly of Salineville, Rebecca (Steve) Kress of Kensington, Donna (Robert) Smalley of Salineville and Ashley (Adam) Dowling of Salineville; one sister, Leona Mathes of Salineville; 14 grandchildren, Dustin Bach of Poland, Ohio, Travis (Laura) Bach of Salineville, Dylan (Cris) Bach of Salineville, Madison Bach of Salineville, Adam, Shelby and Jerry Kelly all of Salineville, Brittany Hofmeister of Poland, Ohio, Donnie Hofmeister of Avon Lake, Courtney, Abby and Brock Smalley all of Salineville, Sebastian Bach of Salineville and Peyton Dowling of Salineville; four great-grandchildren, Averie, Colton, and Bane Bach of Salineville and Alex Smalley of Salineville.
A service will be held Friday July 26, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Kerr-Pastore Funeral Home in Salineville, Ohio, with Pastor Ron Laughlin of the Harvest Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.
