SALEM - Pia "Virginia" Ciotti, 86, of Salem, died at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Courtyard at Lexington.
She was born May 18, 1927, in Salem, a daughter of the late Joseph and Enrichetta (Miocchi) Equizi.
Prior to her retirement in 1993, Mrs. Ciotti had worked at Ames and previously worked at JC Penny and A&P. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, LCBA, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies Italian Club, Salem Senior Citizens, and Salem Area Retired Workers.
She volunteered at Salem Community Hospital and enjoyed playing bingo at St. Paul's.
Her husband of 52 years, Tullio Ciotti, preceded her in death in 1999.
Her parents and two sisters, Mamie Molina and Lena Pastorelli also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, James (Renee) Ciotti of Salem; daughter, Sandra (John) Hunt of Valdosta, Ga.; sister, Olga Dimko of Salem; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Robert Edwards officiating.
Calling hours will be held at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
