COLUMBIANA - Vera L. Horst, 86, of Columbiana, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Whispering Pines Village.
Born June 3, 1927, in Rinard Mills, she was the daughter of Verner and Delsie (Cline) Smith.
Mrs. Horst was a cosmetologist and then was a foreman at Ballonoff Metal Inc. in Columbiana for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leetonia. She also worked as an activity director for Camelot Arms in Cornersburg.
Her first husband, Leo Horst, whom she married April 2, 1949, died Oct. 5, 1987.
Her second husband, Michael Dzurenko, whom she married Aug. 9, 2003, died July 16, 2004.
Survivors include her daughters, D. Lynn (Chuck) Hamilton of Columbiana, Sandra (Bob) Pinon of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Lorie (Mark) Wilkins of McDonough, Ga.; a sister, Norma Jean Fristick of Tiltinsville; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home with her son-in-law, Pastor Chuck Hamilton, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
