GOSHEN TWP. - A four-crash Sunday left a motorcyclist in serious condition and sent several others to area hospitals, according to the Canfield Post of the highway patrol.
Thomas Stanley of Alliance was cited for assured clear distance after safety service personnel from several area agencies responded to the crash at 5:45 p.m. in which Stanley was southbound in a Chevy Impala on state Route 45 and allegedly struck the rear of a Chevy Sonic driven by Michael Snyder of Salem, who waiting to turn east onto Pine Lake Road. The impact forced Snyder's vehicle left of center, striking a northbound Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by John Fleisher of Warren. Another northbound motorcycle driven by Stephen Noga of Warren swerved to avoid the crash and overturned. Stanley continued through the crash and struck a tree.
Fleisher was flown to St. Elizabeth's in Youngstown with serious injuries. An unspecified number of occupants in the other vehicles were transported to Salem and St. Elizabeth's hospitals.
