Lisbon Running Club to meet Aug. 24

LISBON- The Lisbon Area Running Club is a new faith-based, non-competitive group that meets to run for health and fellowship. All fitness levels and walkers are welcome to attend. The first run is set for Saturday, Aug. 24 at 7 a.m. Interested participates may gather at the Lisbon end of the Greenway Trail. Yard sale set at North Lima church

NORTH LIMA- Calvary United Methodist Church of North Lima, 12062 South Ave. Extension, will host a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14. To reserve space call 330-482-4824. Spaces available are $15 for 12-foot by 12-foot or $20 for 12-foot by 24-foot. Vendors must supply their own tables and tents. Set up is from 3 to 7 p.m. the day before the sale and vendors must remove tables and unsold items at the end of the sale. The church will provide advertising and will have food and cold drinks available for sale. Payment for the space is due prior to the sale. Proceeds will benefit trip to Red Bird Mission in June 2014. Vendors already scheduled will have antiques, farm produce, crafts, flea market items and much miscellaneous.

'Courageous' to be shown at church

SALEM- The Phillips Christian Church, 35459 Salem Grange Road, will show "Courageous" at a drive-in movie event at 9 p.m. Saturday. The event will open with a Veggie Tales movie for the family and younger children. The event will include popcorn, pop and fellowship. For information call the church at 330-332-4467.

Breakfast set at Damascus church

DAMASCUS- The Damascus United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road, will host its monthly community breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Suggested donation is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10.

Church history classes offered

SALEM -? Allegheny Wesleyan College will be offering three weekend classes in Early Church History with Dr. Paul Kaufman as professor. For information call 800-292-3153.

Montgomery to speak at Fellowship

SALEM- The Rev. Jim Montgomery will be ministering at Believer's Christian Fellowship, 608 E. Second St., at 7 p.m. on Aug. 24. Montgomery, a Columbiana County native, is a graduate of Kent State University and Rhema Bible Training Center. He is president of Montgomery Ministries in Broken Arrow, Okla. He has served in a teaching and preaching capacity for over 20 years and has ministered throughout the United States, India, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, Kenya and many other countries. Rummage sale set at Damascus church

DAMASCUS - The Damascus United Methodist Church will host its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 23 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 24. Shoppers may fill a brown paper bag for $4 all day on Friday, until noon on Saturday, then $1 from noon until closing. Larger items will be priced separately. Proceeds of the sale will support the missions of the Damascus United Methodist Women. A bake sale and lunch bar will be available.
