Salem News

A 31-year-old woman received serious burns in a fire at her King Road home shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Winona, Damascus and North Georgetown firefighters battled the trailer fire at 28204 King Road, which was engulfed by flames. The fire's cause remains unknown. The only known occupant was treated initially in a Beloit ambulance, then driven to meet a helicopter. She was flown to a Cleveland hospital for treatment of burns and a possible broken leg. Winona Fire Chief George Brantingham said he could not release the woman's name Saturday evening. The state fire marshal's office has been called in to handle the investigation, due to the serious injuries caused. (Salem News photo by Patti Schaeffer)
