Salem 1945 lunch planned at Salem Hills

SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 1945 will meet for lunch at noon Wednesday at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Guilford Lake Civic Association to meet

GUILFORD LAKE - The Guilford Lake Civic Association plans to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Guilford Lake Ruritan Hall on Route172.

Beaver Local Athletic Council to meet

LISBON - The Beaver Local Athletic Council meeting begins at 6 p.m. Thursday in room two at the high school.

DAHS 1963 breakfast set Saturday

LISBON - The David Anderson High School Class of 1963 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Taste of Country.

Salem VFW kitchen open Saturday

SALEM - The kitchen at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 892 will be open from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday featuring two chicken and shrimp fajitas for $6. The public is welcome. Carryouts are available. For more information call 330-337-8015.

County music jams set in Rogers

ROGERS - The public is invited to a country music jam from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 1 and 15 at the Rogers Community Auction dining room.

Sept. 2 dance in Deerfield canceled

DEERFIELD The Deerfield Historical Society has canceled its "first Monday dance" on Sept. 2 due to Labor Day. Dances will resume on Sept. 16.

Salem 1951 breakfast planned

SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Sept. 4 at the Skyline Diner.

'Chicken on the Run' planned in Salem

SALEM - "Chicken on the Run," drive-thru chicken dinners, will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 5, or until sold out, at the First United Methodist Church, 244 S. Broadway Ave. Cost is $7.

Pembrooke Condo Association picnic set

SALEM - The Pembrooke Condo Association will hold its annual picnic at 6 p.m. Sept. 7 at the pool, or inside the clubhouse in case of rain. Attendees are to bring a coverdish and cold beverage. Cost is $3 per person which will be collected at gate. The club will provide ribs from Ben's and table service. Reservations are needed by Aug. 31 and may be made by calling 330-332-5738 or 330-332-8219 or a committee member, Sally Mattix, Kim Barth, Maria Lasko, Joan Slason or Kitty McDevitt. There also will be a 50/50 drawing.

Electric Furnace retirees to meet

SALEM - Electric Furnace retirees and former employees are invited to breakfast at 9 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club.

Salem 1956 lunch set at Salem Hills

SALEM The Salem High School Class of 1956 will meet for its bi-monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club. Spouses and friends are welcome.

Concealed carry class offered Sept. 14

SALEM - A basic Ohio concealed carry class, taught by National Rifle Association certified instructors, will be held Sept. 14 at the Salem Hunting Club. For more information contact 330-332-9847 or www.salemhuntingclub.com.

Chelsea Furlong benefit set at Eagles

SALEM - A benefit for Chelsea Furlong will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Salem Eagles Club, 1884 N. Ellsworth Ave. Chelsea, 5, has Ewing's Sarcoma Tumor. A pasta dinner will be served from noon to 4 p.m. Cost is $5.

This event, hosted by the Arby's Cruisin Crew, include a car cruise with the first 50 cars to receive a dash plaque, a cornhole tournament, 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction and face painting. For more information call Donna Baker at 330-337-3293.

Salem 1968 dinner planned Sept. 17

SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 1968 plans to meet for dinner at 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at Ricky's English Pub.

Kids Day set in Leetonia Sept. 28

LEETONIA - The Leetonia Sportsman's Club will hold its 38th annual Kids Day on Sept. 28 at the club grounds along East High Street in Leetonia, There will be shooting, archery and fishing events for all children ages 6 to 15. Trophies will be awarded to contest winners and raffle prizes will be given away. A wiener roast will also be held. Everything is free of charge.

Registration starts at 10 a.m. and runs continuously throughout the day.

Salem Cheer Clinic offered Sept. 4-5

SALEM - The Salem High School varsity cheerleaders are holding a Salem Cheer Clinic from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 4 and 5 in the Southeast School gym. All girls in grades kindergarten to sixth are welcome. Cost is $25. Each girl will receive a T-shirt and cheer with the cheerleaders on Sept. 6 at the varsity game. Forms are available at the local schools.
