According to Library Director Lisa Rohrbaugh, the idea for the give-away originated during a world book night at a local food pantry in which the library was giving books away.

"We were seeing the people who come in there, I'm sure a lot of (other) people have clothes they don't need anymore that are still wearable," she said. "No one else really had the space, but the library does."

In addition to offering clothing to those in the community, the event also provides a way for area churches to minister together, according to Ashley McMillin, pastor at the Leetonia First United Methodist Church.

"It's a good way for churches to be working together in the community," she said. "It's important that we're able to serve the residents as one."

Visitors should bring their own bags. Any remaining clothing will be donated to area organizations.

For information contact the library at 330-427-6635.
