- Raymond F. Steffen, 68, 900 Shaker Court, Salem, was arrested for operating a vehicle intoxicated following a traffic stop for marked lanes in the 1800 block of East State Street at 1:31 a.m. Friday.

- An officer responded to an East State Street business at 2:32 p.m. Friday for a report of someone driving an older model red pickup truck with a large amount of aluminum in the bed slowly past the business in the alley. The complainant said the driver may be taking the aluminum cans being used to dispose of cigarette butts. The officer was unable to find the suspect vehicle.

- Police responded to an 600 block East State Street building at 4:18 p.m. Friday where a man reported someone overnight had entered the building and removed copper pipes being used in renovation.

- A Meadowview Drive resident reported at 5:41 p.m. Friday that a known woman had been calling her residence, cell phone and both her and her husband's places of employment. She said the issue had been ongoing and she was concerned it may escalate.

- Officers investigated an assault report in the 200 block of Continental Drive at 7:03 p.m. Friday.

- Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 1800 block of Pearce Circle at 7:08 p.m. Friday but found nothing suspicious.

- John A. Carlariello, 2337 Oak St., Salem, was arrested on an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office after officers aware of warrant saw him at Reilly Stadium during the high school football game Friday night.

- Police responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 8:19 p.m. Friday for a report of a someone who had pulled a vehicle along side a building and loaded several tires into the back. Officers were unable to find the suspect vehicle.

- An officer responded to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street at 9:16 p.m. Friday where an elderly woman had reportedly fallen in front of her residence and struck her head. She was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth's Health Center.

- Police responded to the 1000 block of East Third Street at 9:56 p.m. Friday for a reported dispute but could not find any disturbance.

- Officers responded to a 500 block Walnut Street apartment at 10:33 p.m. for a reported robbery and found an unwelcome person instead. The person was found to have ingested several medications with alcohol and was transported to the Salem Community Hospital.

- Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in an 1800 block East State Street parking lot at 11 p.m. Friday in which a vehicle driven by Drew A. Turney, Leetonia, struck and knocked over a fence while pulling forward after being bumped by a vehicle driven by Noah J. Witmer, Leetonia, who was attempted to pull into an adjacent parking space. No citations were issued.

- An officer responded to a 1300 block South Lincoln Avenue apartment at 10:37 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported someone during the day Wednesday had entered the home and removed a box containing cash and personal papers.

- Officers responded a West Wilson Street home at 11:58 a.m. Saturday where a woman said she had had a fight with her ex-boyfriend but that he had already left. The ex-boyfriend was found not far from the home and advised not to return.

- An officer responded to a West Fourth Street home at 1:24 p.m. Saturday where the resident reported someone had entered the residence and removed a make-up bag from under the bathroom sink. The officer found no signs of forced entry.

- An officer responded to a North Ellsworth Avenue home at 1:39 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported finding clothing in his yard adjacent to Waterworth Memorial Park and suggested someone may be living in the wooded area there. He was advised that officers are aware of a man that has been staying in the park and that they are searching for him.
