Leader's training

Army Cadet Chad B. Bash has graduated from the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps Leader's Training Course at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Jeff and Tami Bash of Salem.

The four-week course is a leadership internship for cadets that can lead to the ultimate goal of becoming an Army officer. College students experience and examine the Army without incurring an obligation to serve in the Army or ROTC, and are eligible to receive two-year college scholarship offers and attend the Advanced ROTC Course at their college.

Bash is a student at Hiram College. He graduated in 2011 from Salem High School.

Basic training

Joseph Munyon of Columbiana, son of Patricia Mayer and Mark Munyon of Columbiana, graduated on Sept. 6 from Marine Corps Recruit Training at Parris Island, S.C.

A former student of Columbiana High School, Munyon is currently enjoying recruit leave in his hometown of Columbiana. He will attend Marine combat training which will last approximately one month. Upon completion of training he will attend a Marine Corps formal school for the military occupational specialty of his choice.

Christopher Sabatino, son of Dari and Jeff Sabatino of Summitville, graduated on Sept. 6 from Marine Corps Recruit Training at Parris Island, S.C.

A former student of United Local High School, Sabatino is currently enjoying recruit leave in his hometown of Summitville. He will attend Marine Combat Training which will last approximately one month. Upon completion, he will attend a Marine Corps formal school for the military occupational specialty of his choice.
