SEBRING- Dean B. Fortune, 86, of Alliance, passed away on Sept. 12, 2013, at his home. He was born on April 16, 1927, in Malvern, Ohio, the son of the late Judge Glenn and Leona (Scott) Fortune. Dean was a graduate of Carrollton High School, Mount Union and McKinley School of Law, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for 42 and a half years for First National Bank, now known as Chase. Dean was a member of Conrad Masonic Lodge and Tadmor Shrine and was a 32nd Degree Mason - Valley of Canton. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Dean is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sally A. (Cullison) Fortune, whom he married on Feb. 16, 1964; and his son, Glenn Scott Fortune of Seneca, S.C. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his only brother, Keith, on Aug. 12, 2013.
A funeral service will be held on at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Kimball officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at the funeral home, with a Masonic Service at 5:30 p.m. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, with Military Honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
