COLUMBIANA - A haystack breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Sunday at 40/8 Voiture 273 Chateau, 44413 state Route 14. Cost is $5.
Breakfast will benefit Historical Society
SEBRING - A benefit breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Sebring American Legion on California Avenue. Proceeds will benefit the Sebring Historical Society.
Cost is $7 for the all-you-can-eat meal which includes coffee and juice. The public is welcome. There also is a 50/50 drawing.

LISBON - The Lisbon Exempted Village Board of Education meeting begins at 5 p.m. Oct. 8 in the board room at the BOE office.
SHS Choir Boosters sponsoring NYC trip
SALEM - Oct. 8 is the reservation deadline for the Salem High School Choir Boosters fundraising trip to New York City.
Attila Samu, Salem High School Choir director, has announced that the NYC Express will depart by motor coach from the Salem High School parking lot at 11 p.m. Dec. 13 and travel all night with rest stops made en route.
Arrival time is approximately 7 a.m. Dec. 14 for an entire day for visitors to enjoy some of the sights and activities available in NYC including the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, shopping on Fifth Avenue, Macy's, Times Square, and strolls through Central Park.
Departure from NYC is 9 p.m. with return to Salem at approximately 6 a.m. Dec. 15. Cost is $90 per person. An additional tour protection fee of $10 is optional.
Reservation forms are available from Samu by calling the high school at 330-332-8905 Ext. 58332 and leave a message. This is a "first come first served" trip. Proceeds from the trip will benefit the choir.

Balloon launch planned at Christina Center
LISBON - The Domestic Violence Awareness Balloon Launch begins at 9 a.m. Oct. 16 at the Christina Center, 115 E. Washington St. This year's speaker is Elaine Kloss, legal advocate for the Christina House.
The event is co-sponsored by the Christina House, Ozer Ministries and the Columbiana County Department of Jobs and Family Services. The Christina House is a program of Catholic Charities Regional Agency. For more information call 330-420-0036.
Jim Stewart Memorial Fund established
SALEM - Jim Stewart, Salem Class of 1972 recently lost his battle to cancer, leaving behind many medical bills. The Jim Stewart Memorial Fund was recently set up to assist the family with paying those bills at Farmers National Bank, 1858 E. State St.

Area students cast in MU production
ALLIANCE - The following students are cast members in the musical "The Phantom Tollbooth" to be presented at 8 p.m. Oct. 3-5 in Campus Grounds on the University of Mount Union's campus.
Leanna Rudibaugh of Lisbon is a junior communication major and plays the role of sound coordinator. Jacob Ward of Kensington is a junior art and theater major and plays the role of The Whether Man/Gatekeeper of Dictionopolis/The Dodecahedron. Elizabeth Wheeler of Minerva is a sophomore interactive media major and plays the role of Lethargarian #5, Spelling Bee, a Demon.
In "The Phantom Tollbooth," the audience will experience Milo's adventures in the Land of Wisdom where he discovers the importance of thinking. While there, Milo learns of an argument between King Azaz of Dictionopolis and the Mathemagician of Digitopolis and the banishment of the Princesses Sweet Rhyme and Reason.
Campus Grounds is located in Hoover Price Campus Center past the WRMU radio station into the B&B and Campus Grounds. DAHS art students hosting reception today
LISBON - The Lisbon David Anderson High School 3D art classes are inviting the community to its "Chihuly Inspired Collaborative Sculptures" art reception from 3:30 to 7 p.m. today in the main DAHS lobby.
This time coincides with the parent/teacher conferences. This special sculpture exhibit celebrates the art work of Dale Chihuly, a professional sculptor known for his large blown glass sculpture installations.

Festival scheduled Saturday in Hartville
HARTVILLE - The eighth annual arts and crafts festival is slated from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hartville MarketPlace, 1289 Edison St. NW. Over 100 crafters will be on site.
The Hartville MarketPlace and Flea Market is open all year from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays featuring 110 climate-controlled indoor shops and 1,000 seasonal outdoor flea market vendors.
Trappers Region B Meet is Saturday
