Aidan Elizabeth Russell becomes bride of Carl Philip Davis

Aidan Elizabeth Russell and Carl Philip Davis were united in marriage during a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Teegarden-Centennial Covered Bridge. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Judith Russell of 13619 Duck Creek Road, Salem. His parents are William and Deborah Davis, 12409 Regiment Lane, Fredericksburg, Va.

Daniel Honker officiated at the couple's double-ring ceremony.

Nuptial music was provided by aucoustic guitarist John Markovic.

The bride was escorted by her father, Kenneth Russell and given in marriage by her father and mother, Kenneth and Judith Russell. She wore a Vera Wang delicate off-white gown with a soft A-line shape, V-neck and hand appliqued lace. The gown was enhanced by a layered fingertip veil.

She carried a cascading bouquet of stargazer lilies, deep red and light pink roses, daisies, and baby's breath.

Brittany Hahlen Thompson of Bonaire, Ga., was the matron of honor.

Bridesmaids included the bride's sisters, Ryanne Gingerich of Centerville and Caitlin Russell of Cleveland.

Carrick Hines of Virginia Beach, Va., served as the best man.

Groomsmen were Adam Mergenthal of Los Angeles, Calif.; Ryan Hohing of Cumberland, Md.

Cedric Gingerich, the bride's nephew, was the ring bearer.

Approximately 120 guests attended the reception at Das Dutch Village Inn.

After a honeymoon to Southeast Asia and China, the couple will reside in Washington, D.C.

The bride received a bachelor's of arts from Kent State University and a master's of public policy from George Washington University.

The bridegroom received a bachelor's of arts from Virginia Tech and a master's of public policy from George Washington University.

They currently work as policy analysts in Washington.

The couple's special guests were the bridegroom's sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Ryan McCarty, who skyped in from China, their post with the Peace Corps.
