COLUMBIANA - Zelma E. Russell, 84, of Columbiana, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Aurora, Ill.
Mrs. Russell was born May 11, 1929, in Clarkson, Ohio, a daughter of the late Sylvester G. and Jane (McCoy) Dyke and had lived in this area most of her life. She will be remembered fondly as a most generous and caring mother. She was a homemaker and a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Her husband, George T. Russell, whom she married Dec. 9, 1950, died May 2, 1991.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane (Don) Lipe of Aurora, Ill., and Lori J. Russell of Kempner, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Apinis of Columbiana; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Lipe and Sarah Lipe, both of Aurora, Ill.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Dyke; and five sisters, Zelda Gaston, Helen Keslar, Ola Russell, Marge Kurtz and Irma Dyke.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana with Pastor Bob Noble officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Friday.
