Butler trustees OK road deal for gas pipeline

By KEVIN HOWELL , Salem News

BUTLER TWP. - Butler trustees Monday night approved a contract for road use for gas line construction.

The trustees approved Road Use Maintenance Agreements with Access Midstream for the Teegarden gathering line including one mile of Winona Road, .8 miles of Whinnery Road and .5 miles of Woodsdale Road; as well as to run pipeline under Woodsdale Road for driveway access.

Trustee Chair Tom Sanor said the work is scheduled to begin within two weeks.

In other business, the trustees tabled discussion of the purchase of a new loader due to lack of funds at this time. Sanor said the current loader is seven years old and with a trade-in and state purchasing discount, the new one would have cost $60,298.75.

The trustees also approved its annual budget hearing to be held through email with the county auditor's office, a process being offered to townships for the first time. Sanor said township administrators usually schedule hearings with the auditor's office, but this year will try the email in which they can discuss any questions.

Fall clean up of Woodsdale Cemetery is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Nov. 15 in which all fall decorations will be discarded. Winter decorations can be displayed beginning Nov. 16.

The next regular trustees meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at the administration building.
